As I write this blog it is Monday, April 8th. It is the day of the total eclipse. It is an occurrence that many people look forward to because, for most of us, it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
It is events like this that should make us ponder God's greatness. Sadly, we neglect to see God’s hand in many things in everyday life. The birth of a child, the dawning of a new day, even the rising of the moon. All these events are put into place by God, the Great I AM.
Today I would like to challenge us to stop and look around at all that has been done and continues to be done by our Heavenly Father. Let us meditate upon the words of the Psalmist in chapter 77 and look at verses 12-14, “I will meditate on all Your work and muse on Your deeds. Your way, O God, is holy; What god is great like our God? You are the God who works wonders; You have made known Your strength among the peoples.”
Look around and gaze upon the wonderment of Your God. Who can understand His way, His perfection? Then think about how much God loves you and me. If you are like me, you may even ask, “Why would this God love someone like me?” Why would He desire to create beings that would choose not to love Him back? This my friends is one of the wonderments of our Lord. I pray that as many of you gazed upon the eclipse this week you pondered upon the greatness of God.
It is so sad how many people will ignore this event as a work of God. Many will say it was just science. Well, who do they think created this science that so many people worship?
You may feel overwhelmed this week. The pressure and hardships of life seem to be crashing down around you. May I give you a word of advice and encouragement? Look around, see the wonder, and ponder upon the greatness of your God.
